Where are you from?
I am from Washington, D.C.!
What is your position at LAS Summer in Switzerland?
I am the Academic Director for LAS summer. I help schedule classes, I help to interview and hire new teachers, and I also help to oversee classes to make sure they’re going smoothly, and that fun, creative things are happening in them.
What about our new program are you most excited for?
I’m most excited for some of the new clubs that will be available for students to take, especially the Language club and the Cooking and Baking club!
How long have you been working for LAS Summer in Switzerland? What brings you back every year?
This will be my 11th year. And I would definitely say the people, the staff are just so friendly and they’re like family. And the students! They’re amazing, I love meeting students from all over the world, and I love seeing how many of our students come back every summer.
Did you ever go to summer camp? If so what is your favorite memory?
I did go to summer camp. My favorite camp memory was stealing one of the teacher’s shoes and we filled it with water and put it in the freezer so that he had ice-filled shoes the next morning!
What advice would you give to a first time camper?
Don’t just hang out with your friends, or other people from the same country. Even though it’s scary, make the effort to sit and have lunch with other people or take classes where you don’t just have all your friends there.
If you could be any fictional character, who would you be and why?
I'd be Wonder Woman because she's strong, athletic, and fearless.
Swiss chocolate or Swiss cheese?
